PACKING · MOVING · STORAGE
Moving Services for Orlando Homes and Businesses
One call to J&J Metro can cover packing, the move itself, and storage if you need it.

Residential Moving
Our residential movers handle condos and houses, including moves out of homes families have lived in for decades. Customers have trusted us with pianos, fragile items, and the move of a parent into assisted living.

Commercial Moving
J&J Metro's commercial clients have included the State of Florida, Florida Hospital, UCF, Orange County, and Bank of America. Our commercial movers in Orlando handle relocations for businesses and public agencies.

Office Moving
Our office movers relocate office furniture and equipment. A labeled floor plan of the new space helps each desk and workstation land in the right place.

Packing and Custom Crating
Our packing team can pack an entire home or business, help you finish, or prepare a few select pieces. The team also builds custom crates for items that need more protection than a box can give.

FULL SERVICE STORAGE
Full-Service Storage Near I-4 and Maitland Boulevard
Our Orlando storage facility offers 24,000 square feet of space about five minutes from I-4 and Maitland Boulevard. Storage is full-service. Our crew loads at your location, brings your belongings to the facility, and delivers them when you call.
It helps when your closing date and move-in date don't line up, when you are downsizing, or when a business needs to store furniture during a remodel. Need storage between homes? Ask about moving and storage together when you request your quote.
LOCAL ROOTS · FAMILY OWNED
Our History as a Moving Company in Orlando, FL
J&J Metro began as two companies. Metro Moving and Storage opened in 1968 on Salana Avenue in Winter Park, and J&J Moving and Storage followed in 1977. The two came under the same ownership in 1985 and merged their names into J&J Metro Moving and Storage.
The Bergenske family became co-owners in 1985, and Gary J. Bergenske later became sole owner. In 1987, the company built its current office and warehouse in the Maitland area. In 2011, G. Jason Bergenske joined the management team as Vice President, the third generation of the Bergenske family in the business.
Our company history records 87,000 moves by the time J&J Metro neared its 50th year. Many customers have moved with us more than once and recommended us to family and friends.

PLAN YOUR ORLANDO MOVE
Local Conditions That Affect an Orlando Move
Traffic, weather, and building rules affect how a move in this city is timed, priced, and protected. Plan for these before moving day.
I-4 traffic.
Interstate 4 runs through downtown and the attractions corridor. Congestion can add drive time to an hourly move, so start time and route matter.
Storm season.
Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Wet driveways and storm watches affect how and when you move furniture.
Gated communities and condo buildings.
Many HOAs and condo towers set moving hours, limit truck parking, or require a reserved freight elevator.
Summer heat.
Heat inside a closed truck can damage candles, vinyl records, electronics, and other heat-sensitive items, so plan how those items travel.

FROM YOUR FIRST CALL TO DELIVERY
How a Move With J&J Metro Works
Moves within Florida are regulated under Chapter 507 of the Florida Statutes, which the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) enforces. Here is what to expect from your first call to delivery.
01
1. Request a quote. Call (407) 875-0000 or fill out our online quote form. Share the size of your move, both addresses, and any heavy or fragile items.
02
2. Review your written estimate. Florida requires a written estimate and contract, signed by you and the mover, before any moving work begins. The estimate or contract must also list the mover's state registration number.
03
3. Moving day. The crew loads, transports, and unloads your belongings at the new address.
04
4. After the move. If anything arrives damaged, you can file a claim with us through our website.

Orlando Moving FAQs
Here are answers to questions customers often ask before booking a move.
Is J&J Metro licensed and insured?
Yes. J&J Metro is licensed and insured, and we are registered with FDACS as a mover under registration IM-120. Florida requires registered movers to carry insurance for loss of or damage to household goods. You can check any mover's registration and complaint history by calling FDACS at 1-800-HELP-FLA.
How are local moves in Orlando priced?
Local moves are commonly billed by the hour, so the total depends on crew size, time spent loading and unloading, and drive time between addresses. Packing, crating, and storage add to the cost when you need them. For a figure based on your own move, request a free quote.
Should I avoid moving during hurricane season in Orlando?
Not necessarily, since the season covers half the year. If your dates are flexible, choose a backup date when you book and watch the forecast during the week before your move. If a tropical storm watch or warning covers Orange County on moving day, call us to talk through your options.
Can you move me into a gated community or condo building?
Yes. Before moving day, ask your HOA or building manager about gate registration, moving hours, truck parking, freight elevator reservations, and whether the building needs a certificate of insurance from the mover. Share those rules when you request your estimate so your move can be scheduled around them.
